World Book Day 2021

Happy World Book Day!

Today we are once again celebrating World Book Day within the nursery, carrying out a range of exciting activities around our favourite stories. World Book Day aims to change lives through a love of books and shared reading, with research showing that sharing stories together, for just 10 minutes every day, can greatly impact a child’s future success. The following tips for parents outline how you can encourage reading with your child at home:

• Let your child choose, hold the book and turn the pages themselves.

• Take your time looking at the pictures together before reading the words.

• Ask your child to tell you what is happening in the pictures.

• Read the words together.

• Use different funny voices for each character and have fun!

• Read their favourite books over and over again!
